A few years ago an executive at one of my channel partners said to me: “What we really need to help us sell more is a sales manual”. I wrote one for them, and they started to sell more. Then it occurred to me that I could probably have used something similar myself when I was a young salesman, so I decided to share my knowledge and experiences of more than 30 years, as both an individual contributor and a sales manager, with other Salespeople.
This sales manual contains sales advice to help Salespeople help their customers solve problems and, as a result, sell more of their particular goods and services. The content you will find here is a combination of tried and tested tactics and techniques that have worked for me through the years; ideas from sales training courses I have attended; books I have read; adaptations of formal methodologies that I have unknowingly used along the way, and of course, lessons learnt from mistakes I have made. Whether you are a Sales Beginner, a Sales Veteran or simply academically curious, there should be something for you here.
